ANN ARBOR -- Karan Higdon chose to return to Michigan for his senior season to win football games and top 1,000 yards rushing.
The former is happening -- with the Wolverines owning a 7-1 record, sitting atop the standings in the Big Ten East and ranked fifth nationally. And the rushing mark is not far off.
Eight games in, Michigan's No. 1 running back has rushed for 831 yards and six touchdowns. If his 118 yards-per-game average holds true, Higdon will eclipse the 1,000-yard mark Nov. 10 at Rutgers.
"Just staying the course," Higdon said Monday, more than a week removed from rushing for 144 yards on 33 carries in an Oct.
