University Park, Pa. — At this stage of the season, Michigan needs every win it can get as it fights to keep its tournament hopes alive.
Even if it’s a grind-it-out, offensively challenged, ugly contest like Tuesday’s matchup at Bryce Jordan Center, the Wolverines will take it.
While it was far from pretty, Michigan found a way to claw out of an 11-point deficit, overcome a woeful shooting night and scratch out a 58-57 win over Penn State.
Sophomore center Hunter Dickinson had 19 points and 15 rebounds and fifth-year senior guard Eli Brooks added 16 points for Michigan (12-9, 6-5 Big Ten), which shot a season-low 31.
