ANN ARBOR -- Donovan Peoples-Jones was not open when Shea Patterson threw the second of his three touchdown passes to him.
Maybe that's why, when the two were asked about the back-shoulder throw that put Michigan ahead of SMU 28-7 on Saturday, Patterson smiled and looked towards his wide receiver. Peoples-Jones nodded right back at Patterson: You tell them.
"That's something we work on pretty often," Patterson said after the 45-20 victory. "The whole fall camp, after our practices, we'd get anywhere from 10 to 15 back-shoulder and regular fade routes just to get our chemistry and timing down.
