ANN ARBOR -- Michigan will be without its backup quarterback for the foreseeable future.
Redshirt freshman Dylan McCaffrey suffered a broken collarbone in the Wolverines' 42-7 rout of 14th-ranked Penn State on Saturday, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed.
Harbaugh, speaking during his post-game news conference, revealed the news when asked a question about Rashan Gary.
"The only player I know that's going to be out now is Dylan McCaffrey," Harbaugh said. "He did suffer a broken collarbone in the game, which is too bad. He was doing so well."
It's unclear when the injury occurred, but McCaffrey played a portion of the fourth quarter -- he didn't attempt a pass, but rushed the ball twice for 14 yards.
