Harbaugh promoted Partridge -- the team's director of player personnel -- to the role of linebackers/special teams coach. Now a full-time assistant coach, Partridge fills the void left behind by former special teams coordinator John Baxter, who left the program for USC last week.
"Chris has a proven track record as a successful coach," Harbaugh said in a statement. "He has brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to his work as our director of player personnel.
