OMAHA, Neb. – An hour before Game 1 of the College World Series finals, Tommy Henry sat on the top bench in the dugout.
While his Michigan baseball teammates took batting practice, Henry sat there, between a bunch of backpacks, boxed lunches and baseball gloves, barely breaking a stare. He wore headphones, bobbed his head and fidgeted with a water bottle.
Henry talked to nobody except team athletic trainer Kimberly Hill. As the Wolverines came off the field, he swapped his shoes for spikes, his batting practice uniform for his game uniform, and walked with purpose to the bullpen in right field.
