ANN ARBOR -- Some 48 hours later, Michigan isn't trying to discredit Northwestern did to it early in Saturday's come-from-behind win.
The 15th-ranked Wolverines fell into a 17-point hole midway through the second quarter before kicking into high gear to edge the unranked Wildcats, 20-17, in Evanston, Ill.
Northwestern, missing its top rusher Jeremy Larkin, amassed 105 yards of total offense in the first quarter, thanks mostly to 94 yards passing from quarterback Clayton Thorson.
"Both sides of the ball, yeah, they outplayed us in the first quarter," Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday during his weekly news conference.
