UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Michigan's early-season success has earned the program a new trophy. The Wolverines beat Providence 66-47 on Sunday to win the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament.
With leading scorer Charles Matthews limited by foul trouble, Ignas Brazdeikis scored 20 points and Jon Teske added 17, career-highs for both players, as Michigan led from start to finish.
The Wolverines improved to 5-0 for the first time since the 2012-13 season, when they started 16-0. With its perfect start, including a win over then-No. 8 Villanova, No. 18 Michigan will surely rise in Monday's new AP poll.
