Michigan overcomes red-zone woes, downs Indiana for 10th win

ANN ARBOR -- Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan coaching staff warned everyone who would listen this week that Indiana posed a threat.

The last three games were decided by a combined 24 points, a stretch that included a pair of overtime meetings.

It was a similar case on Saturday.

The fourth-ranked Wolverines overcame a small halftime deficit and red-zone woes on offense to stave off Indiana, 31-20, at Michigan Stadium.

Running back Karan Higdon rushed 21 times for a team-high 101 yards, while quarterback Shea Patterson completed 16 of 28 passes for 250 yards.

But perhaps the team MVP on the day was Jake Moody, the true freshman kicker who replaced Quinn Nordin.
