Ann Arbor – A college basketball team can make or break its March resume in February.
Michigan was pushed to the brink and nearly dealt an ugly blemish against a scuffling, short-handed Minnesota team.
But in the end, the Wolverines were able to overcome poor free-throw shooting and huge games by Nate Mason and Isaiah Washington to pull out a 76-73 overtime win Saturday at Crisler Center.
Senior guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored 17, including a tiebreaking three-point play with 3.8 seconds left in overtime, for No. 24 Michigan (19-6, 8-4 Big Ten), which finished 12-for-28 from the free-throw line.
