ANN ARBOR -- Grant Newsome is still holding out hope for a return to the football field, but first he must get the clearance of doctors.
The Michigan offensive tackle told reporters on Thursday he plans to meet with a group of doctors and specialists in the next few weeks to determine the next course of action.
"I feel confident that I can play right now, and that I can contribute to this team," Newsome said at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, where he was on hand for the ChadTough Foundation's six-figure donation for pediatric brain tumor research.
