Michigan Wolverines offensive lineman Stephen Spanellis will be moving on from the program, he announced on Wednesday evening just hours after the team’s 35-16 loss to Alabama in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl.
Spanellis, one of the program’s top scholars, will be a graduate transfer and be eligible to play immediately at the program he winds up at next. He was a three-star recruit in the class of 2016 and played in 36 career games in Ann Arbor.
Spanellis was one of Michigan’s key reserves on the offensive line and played most of his college career at center, which puts the Wolverines into an interesting spot heading into next season if Cesar Ruiz decides to declare for the NFL Draft.
