ANN ARBOR -- Even as the Michigan football team continues to log improvement along the offensive line, it just lost one of its young, promising players.
James Hudson, a redshirt freshman tackle, has elected to leave the program and pursue a transfer, team spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed Monday to MLive.
The 6-foot-5, 301-pound native of Toledo, Ohio, appeared in three games during the 2018 season, primarily in a reserve role. Hudson last played in Michigan's Oct. 13 game against Wisconsin, a game in which he suffered a dislocated finger, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Monday.
He did not play in Michigan's 21-7 win over Michigan State as a result, even after right tackle Juwann Bushell-Beatty left the game with an undisclosed injury.
