Michigan-Ohio State grades: Worst performance of Don Brown era

Free Press sports writer Nick Baumgardner rates Michigan football on a scale of 1-10, after the 62-39 loss to Ohio State on Saturday at Ohio Stadium:

Offense

Michigan's game plan was too safe, too careful and it never worked. The offensive line couldn't protect Shea Patterson, and Michigan struggled to run the football. There were dropped passes and missed throws and penalties. Very little worked. The Wolverines did put together a few drives in the first half, but never finished them. That has been a trend that was bound to catch up with Michigan at some point this season.
