Shea Patterson had the better part of eight months to familiarize himself with his surroundings at Michigan, including his teammates.
Some players had no idea who Patterson was when he arrived as a transfer quarterback from Ole Miss in January. Others had known him for a while.
Like third-year tight end Nick Eubanks, who became familiar with Michigan's new quarterback in August 2015. Then a tight end/safety at American Heritage High School in Florida, Eubanks picked off Patterson's possible game-winning touchdown pass and returned it for a score in a sizable upset over powerhouse IMG Academy.
