As Moe Wagner headed to the Michigan bench with 3:49 to play in the first half Tuesday against Michigan State for a time-out, it appeared that MSU's Nick Ward stuck out his foot to trip him.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo called it "inexcusable" if it happened, but noted that Wagner "can be a pain in the butt."
No one knows that better than Ward, who heard and felt Wagner's digs throughout the first matchup and had to deal with it early on Tuesday as well as Wagner scored 19 points, 13 in the first half.
"He's the 5 for Michigan State and I'm the 5 for Michigan so obviously we're going at each other," Wagner said after the 86-57 win at Crisler Center.
