Without its best player, Michigan played its best game.
The Wolverines played their third game without injured Caris LeVert - but no one seemed to notice as U-M secured its best win in two years on Tuesday, upsetting No. 3 Maryland, 70-67 at Crisler Center.
The win was their first over an elite team this year and the first over a Top 5 team since Jan. 18, 2014 over No. 3 Wisconsin. The last time at home was over No. 4 Duke on Dec. 6, 2008.
U-M (13-4, 3-1 Big Ten) was led by Zak Irvin’s best game of the season, filling the LeVert void with 22 points.
