The backup point for the Knicks spent most of his December recovering from an MCL sprain. He scored just nine points total for the month before last Saturday’s 12-point outing against Utah.
Against the Lakers Friday, he tallied 16 points on 13 shots in New York’s 119-112 road victory. It was his best production since a 29-point outburst Nov. 21 against Boston.
In his 19 minutes, he also managed a rebound, an assist and a steal over the Los Angeles sans Lebron James.
His teammate Tim Hardaway, Jr. averaged 19 points a game for New York this past week, shooting his way to 22 points (7-of-18) against the Lakers.
