The Minnesota Twins announced Sunday that outfielder Ryan LaMarre had been optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
While a corresponding move was not announced, standout outfielder Byron Buxton has been working his way back from a broken toe and has started the past five games in Rochester. It appeared he would be the likely candidate to replace the former Wolverine.
LaMarre's numbers weren't eye-popping -- he has hit .263/.321/.313 in 42 games with the Twins -- but they were enough to keep the Jackson native in the lineup for the majority of the past month.
