LIVONIA, Mich. -- Maurice Hurst continued his post-season award haul on Tuesday, earning two major honors from his coaches and peers.
The fifth-year defensive tackle was named team MVP by his teammates and defensive player of the year by the coaching staff at Michigan's post-season banquet, put on by the University of Michigan Greater Club of Detroit at Laurel Manor.
Hurst had 59 tackles, including 13 1/2 for a loss, and five sacks while starting in all 12 games for the Wolverines. He was a unanimous first-team all-Big Ten defensive selection, and a Walter Camp and AP first-team national All-American.
