Michigan decided to honor the 2021 Big Ten Champions this weekend and give each player and coach their championship rings. During that same weekend, they also had a huge recruiting weekend planned. Coincidence? I think not. What a great idea and that idea is already paying off, as 4-star TE from Chicago TE Deakon Tonielli picked the Wolverines last night.
Deakon is 6'6 215 pounds and a 247 4-star TE. His offer list included Illinois, Purdue, Cincinnati, and Bowling Green. The kid is a good athlete and also plays basketball and runs track. Welcome Deak!
This breaks the long non-commitment streak and there is a good chance it starts a run of good news for the Wolverines as they now have back-to-back big recruiting weekends to follow up on.
