In a battle of struggling Big Ten teams, the Michigan Wolverines lost another close game, this time to the Maryland Terrapins, 64-57.
The first half in College Park started very ugly for both teams. Through eight minutes in the contest, the Terrapins shot 3-for-11 from the field, 0-of-5 from three-point range and 0-of-3 from the free-throw line. The Wolverines weren’t much better, shooting 2-for-9 in the same span and 1-for-3 from three.
If the half couldn’t get much worse, both teams went on a five-minute scoring drought with 11 combined missed field goals, until Olivier Nkamhoua broke it with 11:00 remaining in the half.
