Iowa City, Iowa — Michigan made it a game for a heck of a lot longer than other Iowa foes have this season.
So there’s that, if you’re in the consolation business.
Michigan coach John Beilein isn’t.
This was a win the Wolverines could have had, but costly turnovers, especially in the second half, did them in as the Hawkeyes stayed perfect in Big Ten play with an 82-71 victory before a packed and rowdy crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Michigan (13-5, 3-2 Big Ten) had a 52-51 lead with 12:23 left, but Iowa went on a 12-0 run, with a Zak Irvin turnover proving critical, leading to a 3-pointer from Iowa’s Anthony Clemmons.
