Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito calls the Wolverines defense a “positionless defense” — and this will help versatile linebacker Jaishawn Barham shine in 2025.
Barham transferred from Maryland to Michigan last season, playing 626 snaps with 66 tackles and a sack. Now, in his second year with the program, Barham’s role in Michigan’s defense will become even more important and integral.
Esposito loves that defensive coordinator Wink Martindale’s defense leaves the opposition guessing, and having a player like Barham who can play snaps at edge rusher along with linebacker duties should only confuse defenses all the more.
