Michigan lands four-star Los Angeles cornerback David Long

Michigan has endured a stretch of decommitments but added a standout cornerback on Thursday night.

David Long, a four-star prospect from Los Angeles Loyola, committed to Michigan on ESPNU.

Long is 6-0 and 175 pounds and has a verified 40-yard time of 4.4 seconds. He chose the Wolverines over his other finalist, Washington.

Long is ranked the No. 5 cornerback in the nation and No. 1 in California by Scout.com.

Five Michigan coaches, including head coach Jim Harbaugh, had an in-home visit with Long on Monday. The others were defensive coordinator Don Brown, Chris Partridge, Jay Harbaugh and Greg Mattison.
