Michigan jumps to No. 17 in AP poll, Michigan State stays at No. 2

Entering the final week of the regular season, Michigan has its highest ranking of the year in the Associated Press poll.

The Wolverines jumped five spots in this week's poll to No. 17 following their Sunday win over No. 8 Ohio State. Michigan's previous highest ranking this season was No. 20.

Michigan State, meanwhile, remained at No. 2 in the poll for the second straight week after beating Minnesota and Northwestern. Virginia remained at No. 1, receiving 42 first-place votes, compared to 19 for Michigan State.
