ANN ARBOR -- Michigan will need some assistance winning the 2016 Big Ten regular season championship after splitting its weekend series with Minnesota.
The Wolverines took the lead in the conference with a 6-2 win Thursday, but it was short-lived. On Friday, Minnesota recaptured the top spot with a 3-2 overtime victory in Minneapolis.
"We like where we are," said Michigan coach Red Berenson. "We wanted to get more than a split in the games here; I think Minnesota is probably happy with the split right now but we've got to take advantage of our remaining games and see what happens.
