Michigan hockey legend named grand marshal for Pure Michigan 400 at MIS

BROOKLYN, MI - After 17 years as a player in the NHL and 33 years as the head coach for the University of Michigan, Red Berenson's next task comes at a different type of venue.

Berenson will give the "Drivers, start your engines" command, among other roles, as the grand marshal of the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 13.

"I am extremely honored to be named the grand marshal for the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway," Berenson said in a press release. "This race is a great sports tradition for the state of Michigan and I am glad to be a part of it.
