ANN ARBOR - Michigan's hockey program has added another familiar face to its coaching staff.
Bill Muckalt, who won two national titles with the Wolverines as a player in 1996 and 1998, was named Michigan's associate head coach on Tuesday under head coach Mel Pearson, who was hired in April.
Muckalt was an assistant under Pearson at Michigan Tech for four years from 2011-15 before most recently serving as the head coach of the United States Hockey League's Tri-City Storm the past two seasons.
Tri-City won the first Clark Cup in franchise history during the 2015-16 campaign, finishing with a 28-15-10-7 record during the regular season before winning nine of 11 playoff games.
