Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer doubled down Friday on her stance on fans attending sporting events this fall: No full stadiums until a vaccine is available.
“We're going to be in a new normal for quite a while," Whitmer said during her weekly news conference, "and it doesn't mean that sports is over. Sports is not over."
A vaccine is necessary for fans to return to events, Whitmer said. Without a way to combat the novel coronavirus, she doesn't see how seats can be filled.
