Ann Arbor — Freshman center Colin Castleton’s Michigan career has hit a snag before it has truly begun.
According to interim coach Saddi Washington, Castleton broke his right shooting hand two weeks ago. However, the injury didn’t require surgery and Castleton has been wearing a cast since.
Washington, who is filling in for coach John Beilein while he recovers from heart surgery, said Castleton will still travel with the team to Spain from Aug. 17-26 but won’t participate in Michigan’s three exhibition games.
“We expect him to get back to full basketball activities when we get back,” Washington said Thursday before the team’s fourth practice for its 10-day overseas trip at Crisler Center.
