Tight ends have always been a staple of Jim Harbaugh’s offenses. And that didn’t change even after Harbaugh relinquished control to offensive coordinator Josh Gattis in 2019.
Michigan football’s offense still heavily incorporated the position, both in the run and pass game, as the Wolverines used 11 (one running back, one tight end) and 12 (one running back, two tight ends) personnel often. Both Sean McKeon and Nick Eubanks put forth solid seasons. McKeon is out of eligibility, while Eubanks will return for his fifth year.
