One of Michigan football's main recruiting focuses in the 2019 cycle is reeling in the top in-state talent. Since Jim Harbaugh's hiring at the end of the 2015 recruiting cycle, the Wolverines have signed the top two prospects in the state every year except 2018 (Belleville's Devontae Dobbs and Julian Barnett to Michigan State).
In the 2020 class, U-M has their sights set on Port Huron Northern defensive lineman Braiden McGregor. He has quickly emerged as one of the country's best prospects as he recently moved up to 27th overall according to 247Sports.
Michigan's pursuit of McGregor started early and was initially led by former defensive line coach Greg Mattison.
