Michigan football's Michael Dwumfour to miss Citrus Bowl after medical procedure

ORLANDO, Fla. — Michigan football's Michael Dwumfour will miss the Citrus Bowl.

A team spokesperson said Sunday afternoon that Dwumfour, a redshirt junior defensive tackle, underwent a medical procedure that prevented him from traveling to Orlando and will thus keep him from participating in the Wolverines' game against Alabama on Jan. 1.

Earlier on Sunday, Dwumfour posted pictures from the Detroit Lions' home game against the Green Bay Packers on his Instagram.

The 6-2, 282-pound defensive lineman has struggled with injuries over the past year. Dwumfour was injured near the end of the 2018 season and dealt with injuries throughout the offseason.
