Michigan football's Ben VanSumeren has a new position — and it's on the other side of the ball.
VanSumeren, who played running back and tight end this past season, is now a linebacker, based on a tweet he sent Friday.
It's an interesting change for VanSumeren, a 6-foot-2, 244-pound athlete who might be one of the stronger players on the roster. After playing in four games during his freshman season in 2018 at fullback, VanSumeren moved to running back in the offseason and appeared in five games in 2019, recording nine carries for 20 yards and one touchdown.
