While Michigan football’s Aidan Hutchinson waits to find out if he is the first Michigan player to win the Heisman Trophy since Charles Woodson in 1997, he added another award to his trophy case on Wednesday night.
Hutchinson won the Rotary Club of Houston’s Lombardi Award, awarded annually to the college player “who best embodies the values and spirit of NFL coach Vince Lombardi.” The award is only for linemen (on offense and defense) and linebackers.
Hutchinson is the second Michigan player to win the award, which dates back to 1970, following linebacker LaMarr Woodley in 2006.
