The University of Michigan and the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday that a record 122 Michigan student-athletes were selected to the Academic All-Big Ten fall team, with 48 of those student-athletes coming from the football team.
In order to be eligible for nomination, the student-athlete must be in their second year of academics while holding at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
This fall’s Michigan Academic All-Big Ten group featured 41 more members than last fall’s class of 81 members.
The 122 student-athletes led the Big Ten Conference, with Penn State having 118 and Michigan State having 113.
