Michigan Football: Wolverines’ name omitted from Ohio State’s BCS Trophy

On Thursday, Cleveland.com posted a photo and story about Ohio State’s 2014 national championship trophy, which lists the opponents, locations and the game scores of a season that ended with the Buckeyes winning the first college football playoff in Division-I.

What made the story so unique was that the trophy prominently omitted the name of its Nov. 29th opponent. Instead of the word “Michigan” only the acronym “TUN” was found in place where they defeated the Wolverines 42-28 in Columbus.

While some may find the exclusion of Michigan’s name and being reduced to a lame acronym — TUN standing for “Team Up North” — as insulting or some sort of slight to the Wolverines, I actually like it.
