While the recruiting dead period has hit for Michigan football and other programs, it’s a great time for players to narrow down their lists and a couple of highly-ranked defensive tackles did this week, which turned out to be good news for the Wolverines.
The first news was a bit of a surprise as Damon Payne, a top-100 tackle in the 2021 class and a recruit from the state of Michigan, put the Wolverines in his top 10.
Payne, who is from Belleville, is the top-ranked player in the state of Michigan according to the 247 composite rankings.
