It has been obvious for weeks that Michigan football is mostly done with the 2019 recruiting class. However, on Saturday, the Wolverines added to players from the 2019 class that will help UM on special teams.
Of course, a program like Michigan football has to be careful with scholarships and since the limit is 85, adding talent without surrendering scholarships can be tremendously beneficial and that’s what the Wolverines are hoping they did here with kicker Karl Kerska and long snapper William Wagner.
Both players are coming to Michigan but each is coming as a preferred walk-on, meaning that while the program wants them and they will get to practice with the team, neither player is guaranteed a scholarship or even a spot on the team.
