Jim Harbaugh made it clear Ambry Thomas was out with colitis, and there was no timetable for his return to Michigan football.
“He was diagnosed with colitis. He’s lost quite a bit of weight,” Harbaugh told the media on August 13th. “He’s gained that weight back. If there isn’t setbacks, then there will be milestones he’ll be able to achieve. With’s no timeline on that.”
Harbaugh added that Thomas would have to advance in several stages he called milestones.
“When it’s determined what he can do, that’s what he’ll do and we’ll monitor for setbacks,” Harbaugh continued.
