Michigan football's game at Iowa on Saturday has been canceled, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told the USA TODAY Sports Network, just before U-M announced the news.
The Wolverines finished 2-4 in the regular season.
According to a Michigan news release, the Wolverines were expected to be without more than 50 athletes against the Hawkeyes because of lingering effects from a COVID-19 outbreak within the program.
"“The number of positive tests over the past three weeks, which require a 21-day unavailability period, and the contact tracing requirements associated with those numbers has pushed our current list of unavailable student-athletes to over 50," the release stated.
