Ever since Penn State joined the Big Ten conference and began play back in 1993, Michigan football and the Nittany Lions have engaged in some classic battles.
With the classic winged helmets of Michigan football and the iconic white of Penn State, each time the two teams meet, it has a historic feel to it.
While this will be Penn State’s 24th season in the Big Ten, it will be the school’s 20th meeting with Michigan football. During the first 19 meetings between the two traditional powerhouses, the Wolverines have won 12 times.
Furthermore, 18 of the 19 games between Michigan and Penn State have featured at least one ranked team and eight of the games were played with each team ranked in the top 25.
