Free Press sports writer Nick Baumgardner looks at which Michigan football players helped and hurt their stock in Saturday's 20-17 at Northwestern:
3 up
DE Chase Winovich
He's been Michigan's best defensive player, no question. And Saturday, he was basically the only one that showed up ready to play when the team got off the bus. Winovich had nine tackles (three for a loss) and a sack in U-M's comeback victory and was unblockable for most of the game. Winovich now has 32 tackles (10.5 for a loss) and three sacks this season. He's been outstanding and is on pace to eclipse the breakout numbers he had a year ago.
