Heading into the 2019 recruiting cycle, one could argue that safety was the one position the Michigan football staff had yet to really crush. It was a position they often relied on prospects who would take time to develop with no real instant impact types to build around.
In December, that changed when the Wolverines signed 5-star Daxton Hill, the nation's top safety prospect and one of the better safety recruits in recent years. Hill will enroll with the program in June and is expected to be an immediate contributor for Michigan in 2019.
