Michigan football added a new piece to its 2022 recruiting class Sunday with a verbal commitment from Madison (Alabama) Academy linebacker Deuce Spurlock. He announced the commitment on his Twitter account.
A 6-2, 200-pound linebacker, Spurlock is rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He held additional scholarship offers from Auburn, Boston College, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, South Florida and Washington State, among others.
Spurlock took his official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend.
Members of the Michigan coaching staff and recruiting department cannot reference unsigned athletes in public, but director of player personnel Courtney Morgan expressed his delight in cryptic fashion with a message on Twitter.
