When Michigan football concluded spring practices, it appeared that Mike Sainristil was poised to play a big role as a freshman.
Sainristil, a receiver from Massachusetts, quickly turned heads after enrolling early this past winter. In April, he was named a starter by Jim Harbaugh. Players and coaches raved about him. In fact, he might have been the most talked-about player throughout the spring, viewed as a perfect fit for the new spread offense that supposedly emphasized getting the ball to playmakers in space.
