Dylan McCaffrey's formal introduction into college football wasn't exactly how he'd envisioned it.
But of all the advice he's ever received from Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, one piece has stuck with him.
"It's better to be prepared and not get your opportunity than to be unprepared and get that opportunity," McCaffrey, Michigan's redshirt freshman backup quarterback, said Tuesday. "I think that's something you have to live by."
They were words McCaffrey took to heart all of last season, as he spent his time running Michigan's scout team as a redshirting freshman who didn't get team reps during practice weeks.
