ATLANTA — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Monday he'd like to make current wide receivers coach Ben McDaniels a permanent hire moving forward.

Harbaugh named McDaniels the team's wide receivers coach for the bowl game after Michigan lost Jim McElwain to Central Michigan earlier this month.

On Monday, he said he plans to keep McDaniels, 38, who is the younger brother of New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
