Michigan football OL Ryan Hayes picked by Miami Dolphins in 7th round of NFL draft

Michigan football won the past two Big Ten championships.

During that time it had two different starting quarterbacks. Two different starting running backs. Two different primary wide receivers. Two different No. 1 tight ends. Two different centers. Even two different offensive coordinators.

One key constant? Ryan Hayes, holding firm as the blindside protector.

Hayes, U-M's two-time All Big Ten left tackle, was selected No. 238 overall by the Miami Dolphins on Saturday in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft.

He's the eighth Wolverine taken in this draft, joining DT Mazi Smith (first round, Dallas), TE Luke Schoonmaker (second round, Dallas), DB DJ Turner (second round, Cincinnati), K Jake Moody (third round, San Francisco), DE Mike Morris (fifth round, Seattle), C Olusegun Oluwatimi (fifth round, Seattle) and P Brad Robbins (sixth round, Cincinnati).
